Presentations

As an elementary-teacher-turned-author, when I talk to children about writing, about being an author, I want to share with them the delight of creating story and sharing it with someone else, and, hopefully, inspire them to discover for themselves the great joy of writing. I have found that three types of presentations work well to accomplish this goal -- a personal history presentation, a performance presentation, and a teaching presentation. I am always willing to customize my presentation, as I strongly believe that in order for any type of presentation to be successful it must fit the needs, interests, and expectations of the intended audience. Additionally, a critical prerequisite for any successful author visit is that the student has read and is familiar with the author's work.
