Highlights My passion for words began at an early age, and I still have many of the poems, novels, comic strips, and stories that I created when I was young. My first chance to officially see my name in print came in grade school, when the local paper printed my letter about the plight of baby harp seals. My first book, a picture book called Not Enough Beds!, was published in 1999; it tells the story of what happens when too many relatives show up for the holidays. Two years later, another picture book, Trick-or-Treat on Milton Street, appeared. That book went on to win several honors, including an IRA/CBC "Children's Choice" Award, one of the few book awards chosen by children themselves. |
