In September, 2001, Metronet received a federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant to collect and analyze data based on the Standards for all Minnesota public school library media programs. Metronet has used this baseline data to determine the condition of school library media programs statewide and to assess the impact of school library media programs on student achievement. In October 2003, Metronet received a second federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant to collect and analyze current data. This second census was developed so Metronet and the other multitypes could use this second database to determine the 2004 condition of school library media programs statewide and to assess the impact of school library media programs on student achievement. The census is now available in several formats for each year. Contact Metronet if you need paper copies. Use the census results:
2004The raw data is available by school and district. 2002The raw data is available by school and district. The LSTA grant to Metronet is administered by Library Development and Services (LDS), the division of the Department of Education which works to improve library service in Minnesota. |
